Everyone loves a little bling on their shoes!

I bought these Converse shoes at the Thrift Shop for a couple bucks. The washed up like new and I added a few embelishments and now my princess has some new favorite shoes. The best part is that she can be comfortable wearing her converse shoes with a skirt or dress and still be fashionable!

Miss Eva is already picking out her favorite shoes and outfits to wear!

If you'd like to make a pair yourself, here's what you'll need:
some Aleene's Jewel-It, flat gems, and ribbon for laces.
You will need to scuff your shoes with a rough sponge & clean
them with rubbing alcohol before you adhere the gems.
It is best to use tweezers to align the gems.

Onesie Dress from Prudent Baby (Free Pattern)

This is a really quick sew...it should take about 10 min. and the results are stunning.
The pattern is here.

Little Lamb Pillows (Free Pattern)

The purl bee featured this little lamb pillow which is quite adorable and very appropriate for Easter. The pattern is here.

Dana at MADE has her own modifications that she made to this design which are found here.

Both are quite adorable! I will have to try making one since my little one loves stuffed animals right now!

5 Minute Projects

Here's a few quickie 5 minute projects!

A new spring Blankie
The flowered side is a soft lightweight fuzzy cotton. The opposite side is a silky polyestered. I rounded the corners by using a drinking glass as my template. I serged the two pieces together (wrong sides together) and voila...done in 5!

A Heart Barrette
I cut a heart shape from a piece of paper as a template and then cut 2 hearts from red felt. I added a barrette on the lower bottom heart. I hand-stitched the two together with white embroidery thread. Actually, this project took a bit longer than the blankie...maybe 10 min.

Barrette Hanger
Here's a really quick one. I bought the pre-painted top pieces from Michaels along with some fancy coordinating ribbon (one thick, one thin). I hot-glued the ribbon on to make a barrette holder (no sewing involved!). These are super fast and you can make a bunch of these at one time once you've got your gun warmed up and voila...done in 3-5!

Princess Ariel Pillow
My last one is this Princess Ariel Pillow. I completed this one in about 5-10 min. I used the serger for all of it.

I love my serger!!
